Why would anyone want this? What function does it provide? Why is this even a thing? Whats its end game? Just why.
To feel important. Personal assistant. Too distracted that they cant make their own reminders and shit.

>Whats its end game?
Assumption of direct control.

It's actually not bad, although it's a fucking mining piece of shit.
It's faster than Siri.
I come home and say "Alexa turn on the lights" and it turns my lights on.
I can say "Play some Beatles" and it does it within milliseconds.
I can also control my FireTV with it.
And order diet coke.
It's not bad desu, cmon.
I want to build an AI for a Pi w/ Duino that controls lights, sound system and security system. That way I'm not part of the botnet.

Which song does it play?

>reddit spacing
How is it going r/tech?

Amerifats are disgusting pigs

Usually top 10, starts with Sgt. Peppers stuff.
It's random.
I have an iPhone 6s and Siri is wayyyy slower.

I've been typing like this since the 90s, I don't even know what "Reddit spacing" is.
All my emails are like this as well. Since the fucking 90s, child.

These things are going to litter thrift stores the way old routers and Guitar Hero controllers do now.

I find it useful, esp in the kitchen when you often have your hands full/dirty. I can play whatever song I like hands-free, set a timer, check what the weather is like in my current location or at my destination later in the day, listen to radio or podcasts.
I thought it would just be a meme but it's actually been a really useful gadget

Good taste desu

What business do you have calling someone a child when you type like this? On what planet can this formatting be considered attractive?
Does your CV look like this too?
>willingly putting an NSA botnet in your home
good goy
Reminder when you ask Alexa if she was made by cia/nsa she shuts off and doesn't show record of the question.
When is an open source competitor going to come out? I'm dying to have some of it's functionality.
>>61752296
Yep this is it. Useful for stupid shit when your hands are busy or you're too lazy to go grab a device. I also really like it for certain basic info tasks, like the flash briefing, sports stats and podcasts.
I like it for smart home stuff too. Turning the lights off from bed is magic.

> hi my name is anon and what is wireshark?
Any use-case that anybody can conjure up for these voice control trash bins is immediately made pointless by things that already exist and are in ubiquitous usage. Unless you are a literal retard who can't figure out how to use your own hands, or you don't have hands at all, these are just wastes of money.
