They're already using something nobody likes.

they probably dont like or know how to do code in C# so using unity for html5 is out of the question and they got a cracked adobe flash circa 2012 on a thumb drive

HTML5 video players aren't Javascript. It's literally built into the HTML code and tells the browser to play the file.

Go back to /v/

>>61746259
Then what's preventing the video from starting if you block all the scripts? Checkmate

comfy and consistent to animate and develop on, supports tweening, simple but powerful scripting language, uses lightweight vector graphics, small file sizes, doesn't require huge amounts of power from the pc and can be run straight from browser without need to download an .exe.

now try to name a competitor. you'll realize why its so popular among porn game devs.

youtube-dl uses non-free Javascript to retrieve video content. ;(
>>
all my uni hw websites.
>>
>>61746282
It means whoever wrote the page isn't using the HTML5 video tag and resorted to Javascript.

You can play HTML5 videos without Javascript, it's up to the site developer to use the native video playback. Most of them use Javascript because they're stupid.

Come on man, this is the technology board, you should know this stuff.
>>
>>61746420
Doesn't scratch literally run on flash though?
>>
>>61746425
No it doesn't
>>
>>61746488
It does. it needs to download something called "js-player" from youtube to retrieve the correct youtube URL. Go check it yourself, if you don't believe me.
>>
>>61746444
That's pretty much what I'm complaining about here. The many sites that decided to update from flash based player to html video now use a bloated third-party one that somehow runs even worse
>>
>>61746467
I suppose it might be, not sure.
>>
4chan.org/flash
>>
>>61746511
That's my point, too. In a battle of Flash vs PURE HTML5 video playback, HTML5 wins.
>>
>>61746509
>it needs to download something called "js-player"

>download youtube-dl source
>grep for "js-player"
>only one result in the extractor for thescene.com, which just matches the page for it to get the video url and doesn't download it

You're gonna have to try harder than that if you want to lie about something and then refuse to prove it yourself
>>
>>61746444
>Most of them use Javascript because they're stupid.

No, it's because loads of organization still use ancient browsers, so you need something with backwards compatibility.
It's annoying as fuck, but HTML5 is still 10-15 years away.

Name an ancient browser a corporation would use that DOES NOT support HTML 5.

Exactly.

My work has a client that needs files submitted by a portal that uses flash for a Choose File button.
I've been using dotjs to inject javascript to replace the flash button with the normal html5 version of the button

IE 11 does support html5 well enough
>>
>>61745717
They use swf because there's plenty of tutorials, GUIs and frameworks for it. Smartphones killed browser games and thus nobody is developing anything for HTML5.
>>
>>61745137
Twitch.tv

I don't think there's a way to block the ads unless you run it on flash.
>>
>>61747212

>>
>>61747219

They did, though you can still go back to Flash in the options.
>>
>>61747212
Not true. It is far less effective at the moment though.

As far as websites, I suspect a lot of the sports streaming websites I use. I use NBC Sports, watchESPN, and a bunch of other shit to watch NFL games during the year. I can't imagine they'll be quick to switch over.

This is very important.

As an animator who has done porn before, you have to realize that most porn is just very repetitive motions.

It saves all the JS it downloads to some cache on your computer. On windows, I think it lives in your user folder.

Because old games are still flash and converting them is a waste of time, and there's no point in teaching yourself making HTML5 games and moving to HTML5 when all your visitors use flash. There are some HTML5 games but nobody cares about them anymore because as >>61747127 said, casual games have moved to android and adult apps are banned on play store where most profit lies.
You can just download the swf and run it in a contained swf player. A lot of games are playable this way.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
