I, for one, can only hear it in complete silence and it doesn't bother me. If you have above average hearing, everything has coil whine. I can hear the processor refreshing the screen through my earphones while scrolling on virtually all PCs, and I can even hear my desktop refreshing the screen when I move the cursor around on the desktop and put my ears to the case.

Dell XPS 13 9365 user here. I chose this because this looks like a premium device even from a distance. The X1 Carbon looks like a thinner T460 desu. But to be honest both are top god tier.
