So ive still got a problem with my 380ED's screen

The Magicgraph 128ZV can do 800x600 in 16bit color.
It can also do 640x480 in true color, which is what i want.
The problem is that if i go to 640x480, it doesnt take up the whole screen. Its just a rectangle in the center. This was also a problem with DOS in 98SE, DOS and the applications would only run in 640x480.
Id totally go for 640x480, its only a 12.1" screen, id just like it to take up the entire screen.

It was only held back by its graphical capabilities. A max of 64mb of integrated video memory on slow ass ram was not great. But at the time it was still a fairly powerful mobile workstation. I use it mainly for AutoCAD 2005 and it handles that just fine.

The G41 fixed that issue by introducing mobile Pentium 4's and using an FX5200Go (I think thats its name) which was much more powerful and was like the modern day P series during its time. Powerful shit.

Socket 478 Pentium 4's in 2003 were still pretty bad ass. Especially since it could come stock with the 3ghz model.
The i/o on it is also very good, it had some great screen options and its built like a damn tank.

Rule of thumb is, the newer the floppy itself is (produced), the more errors from data rott it will have.

That HP got the fastest P4 it'd take (a 3.8GHz HT Cedar Mill), 4GiB of ram, a 40GB Intel SSD and a Radeon 2400XT a couple months after taking that pic. It's still in use by my aunt, runs 64 bit Windows 10 like a dream. It even plays 720p video on youtube just fine.

How much weaker were 8 bit home computers really vs early 8086/8088 based machines? The more I read about them, the more it seems like the Z80 was as capable as (although slightly slower than) those processors and the main difference for most applications was the amount of RAM the machines supported.

The 6510 in the C64 for example was no slower than a 8088. Even though it's clock speed was 4x slower.
The Z80's where very capable. Both the Z80 and 8086/8088 where based on the 8080.

Dark spots caused by dented and misformed sheets in the screen can be slowly brightened by letting an ice cube in a baggie sit on it with the screen off to let the film contract back into its original shape
Then you turn it on and let it warm up to set it

No, not that I know how. Technically anything could be implanted with software routines, but as far as the 6502 goes, it's only GEOS. I know of *NIX likes that try hard, more like fun projects, but they aren't fully developed or compatible.
