Does /g/ hate ubuntu?
>/g/ is a single person
Most people don't.
I think /g/ mostly hates Unity.
I like it to some extent though

/g/ is not one person but I personally don't mind ubuntu and I've been using various distros since the pentium 4 days. I like that it manages bootloaders/uefi properly because uefi based shit and bootloading is one specific area of linux where I'm incompetent and can rarely get it working in arch.
I really dislike unity but on the install that is currently on my desktop I just installed vanilla Ubuntu to try it out once again, then stripped it down to what was essentially the server install and built it back up with gnome.
One thing I would like to see ubuntu do is use some over arching repo system for their PPA's and the packages in them similar to arch with the AUR. as the aur is the one thing I miss the most when out of the arch ecosystem. I always find cool unheard of software in there.

reminder that mir is a fork of wayland
Ubuntu before Unity was pretty solid, shit just worked. After Unity I don't know what the fuck they've been doing, everything breaks at random.
