Just got a 2017 MacBook Pro, how do a secure delete files now? There is no secure delete function and terminal deleted commands don't work?

It's a GNU tool that can overwrite a file or device with random data.
Not sure if it's shipped with the OS that comes with your laptop but you can always boot from a thumb drive with some GNU/Linux distro.
