I don't see how it's relevant in that use case since if you already visit those sites, they'll pop up before you finish typing, instant search or not.

Google instance sucked balls. I would be in the middle of typing something, I would see what I wanted, but the lag would make it so that by the time my mouse was about to click the link it would change to whatever else I typed in.

Shit was hardly 'instant'. Turned it off the first chance I got.
