And if so, what are some good learning resources?
What's the assembly meme about?
Where can you find work with this? Or rather what job requires you to know assembly?

Maybe he want this knowledge for himself. For own projects or better understanding how computer works

Exactly, the lowest I've gone is C, I would love to learn more about assembly.

But what will you do for yourself with it?
>>61666230
I want to learn more about how computers actually work, play around with it a bit, it's not like I'm going to go and get a job that requires assembly.
Learning asm in the age of modern compilers is a waste of time, spend your time learning some usefull skill.

not him but like what

Yes, as I said earlier, I won't get a job with assembly, but will modern compilers teach me how a computer works?

any computer science degree in america?

Asm on the level of weekend hobby won't teach you that either.

Actually it will.

He's kinda right though. If you really want to know how computers work, pick up a computer architecture book. One that goes through the design of a basic computer. Implement one on an FPGA.
I used this one in my class:

The only thing it will do is give you an illusion of knowledge. Want to learn it, sure go ahead, but don't expect to be any brighter if you don't dedicate a serious amount of time and practice for this.
