A certain degree of telemetry exists by default in Windows and nobody is denying that but these claims are getting ridiculous.

Kys you little nigger. Gran Turismo is the superior driving game anyway.

This thread got derailed by winturds who only have muh games as their reason for sticking with a telemetry OS, when it's clear to anyone with sense that you should stop using Windows completely, games are nothing to do with it, but even then Linux has had games for a while.

Well, without being able to study its source we can only assume all of this to be true and happening.

When it comes to games, I'd rather run Windows than have a console. Modern games pretty much include telemetry on all platforms anyway. When it comes to software, there is some software, like one niche graphics package, that saves me a lot of time (== money) and is a pleasure to use in its native environment, but is a bit wonky in Wine.

This means you don't need proof to realize you cannot ever trust close source software. All claims of malicious behavior are either confirmed or plausible.

But sure, apply your burden of proof logic to stuff that's unfalsifiable by definition. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

As much as I would love to switch to Linux,
there's just too much trouble when it comes down to usability.
Every time I had a GNU Linux system it would always crash at some point,
you alway had trouble fixing bugs or getting something up and running.

The reason I use windows would be the same as why people still use iOS.
Usability, and ease of acces. There are ways to block these IPs using an
external firewall for example (>>61657205).
For now the majority of the people will stay on Windows,
because either: they don't know GNU Linux exists OR they have never learnt to use
anything else besides Windows. AS long as we're not hosting too much illegal stuff...
Still, if you are doing stuff with servers and it's illegal, I don't see anyone using
Windows Desktop for that, if so, then yes they should be informed, otherwise I'll stick
here for now, but I'm sure bridges will be made soon enough, or so I hope
