all of my drivers on the amd cards i've had have been pretty awful. For over a year I couldn't even open CCC. Eventually tried formatting my computer and got it to work for a couple months until the drivers updated one day and it stopped working again. The card is shit. The efficiency is dog shit. 300W TDP... that literally reminds me of the old dual GPU solutions or single GPU solutions that were requiring a tremendous amount of power. The 1080 requires 180W of power.

Not only that the 8GB of HBM2 were expected to bring huge performance numbers at higher resolutions and they do keep up well.. .just not that well.

AMD completely failed because they are trying to aim for a market that does not exist. AKA 4K-8K gaming (hence the fact they are using very high speed RAM that is extremely necessary if you want anything above 1080P gaming with today's graphics). 4K does exist, it's a thing, but the HBM2 doesn't scale too well or AMD is just too dumb to optimize the card well enough day 1 (I do expect it to perform better in 6 months from now on). But 8K gaming is not a thing. It won't be til 2020 when we'll get our first commercially available 8K monitors meant for basic use (but due to the neverending increase in demand for better specs we'll get something like 100% DCI-P3 100% SRGB specs as well) and actually get a decent 8K panel to game on.
