Whats a good /g/ related business to go into to make a decent amount of side money?
I was thinking of making a VPN service hosted in some slav country and charging bitcoins for it, but apparently VPN-land is dirty as fuck and low margin.
I'm good with the cryptocoins, Loonix, networking, and security. Know a bit of bash and python.
Anything out there I can do? I want to lessen my reliance on the rat race as much as possible.

1. Find something cumbersome you'd like to have automated instead of doing it manually yourself.
2. Check if anyone has automated it already.
3. If not, automate it.
4. Deploy it ion the cloud, set up some simple monitoring, and make a Show HN and maybe some Google ads with a budget of a few hundred.
5. ???
6. Profit.
One important note: Don't overcharge. Subscription dread is affecting many people already, so keep it at a few bucks at most.
Like, could I pentest for cheapo? Don't nee it to be my main gig.

>Porn
Hard to get actresses for that where I live. Whats the margins on that?
>Gambling
I could see that....would need to host it in Russia or something though
I will feed you the ultimate redpill, so read carefully.
Move to any larger post commie city, near the borders of a Western country, the best candidates are EU countries like Slovakia, Czech republic or Poland. The best choice is Bratislava, so I will use it as my example.
Learn how to program. If you have a compsci degree you are perfectly set.
The rent in Bratislava is cheap, and the capital city of Austria is just one hour away by bus.
Get a job at a comfy company in Wien, while you pay cheap rent in Bratislava. They will hire you, even if you are borderline retarded, if you can write a few sensible lines of code.
Congratulations, you are now instantly upper class, as a matter of fact, you probably make more money than the fucking prime minister.
Girls will be wet as fuck from the sight of your Thinkpad in your mercedes.

What is Subscription dread?
>>61629655
You pay for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify, G-Suite, and many others. At some point you realize that you're pouring a significant amount of money into services that charge you on a monthly basis. Oh, right, there's still old-world stuff like utility bills, internet access, and possible physical subscriptions left.
Once you realize that a decent chunk of your monthly disposable income is consumed by things you may not even be using to a degree that would justify the price, you have experienced subscription dread.
Anything that requires recurring payments for sustained functionality becomes suspicious, and you spend more time weighing your purchase decision than in the past because you're aware that eight bucks a month is almost a hundred per year. That money could be used for all sorts of things. The same argument repeats for each service you're paying for. And you ask yourself the same questions every time you check your surprisingly low account balance.
You might want to fight it... cut down on whatever is not essential for your lifestyle. On the other hand, the most convenient way to deal with it is to just let it happen. Accept that there are several hundred bucks being charged to your credit card at the end of every month, containing payment for all those things you know or maybe forgot about that make your life slightly easier.

Thank you for the answer. I understand it now.

Not him, but you can go the alternate route of findnig something that a mid-sized company needs automated and charge a few hundred to a few thousand a month for it.
>>61630745
You shouldn't do that unless you're highly familiar with that kind of business, or if you're a contractor who is paid to look at shit and devise a solution.

Yeah that's fair, I was just assuming that OP had a non /g/ related job since he said side money, maybe his industry has something that needs automation.
