Okay /g/, I've had a Lenovo ThinkPad for ages and it finally died on me. I'm pretty attached to the track point so it's preferable in a laptop. Any suggestions? ThinkPads would be preferable but open to anything. Need enough power to game and work.

My personal recommendation is the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming (7567).
It's upgradeable, easy to work on, and comes with one of 2 processors (Intel Core i5 7300HQ, or Intel Core i7 7700HQ), and one of 2 GPUs (4GB Nvidia GTX 1050, or a 4GB Nvidia 1050Ti).
It's cheap, well built, upgradeable, and starts at $800. It's commonly called the best gaming laptop under a grand.
I have the very base entry model and it's good.
