They should have messed up the thermal paste like last time.

>fucking hex screws
Great, I have to get a screwdriver specifically to mount my CPU. What's wrong with Philips head screws ?
>>
>>61611728
if that's threadripper, wouldn't they should put 4 dots on the approximated dies?

i assume that's epyc. threadripper is supposed to come withan aio liquid cooler

>4 dots on the approximated dies

Only if you delid it, and doesn't lid it again.

The aluminium heat spreader is there to make sure you have a common surface to transfer the heat from.
This should also make the 4 dies equalize around the same temperature.

Everything. Its a mistake of mankind. In my eyes - the biggest
>>

Weaker.
Harder to torque accurately.
Just buy some hex keys already. They're cheap and useful.
t.will use SHCS exclusively in my next PC build
>>
>>61611834
For a heatspreader that large I'd honestly just spread it beforehand with a card.
>>
>>61611772
phlilips are easier to strip

do you want to strip the screw that holds a $4000 cpu?
>>
>>61611979
show me a $4k cpu
>>
>>61611772
Should've used torx instead.
>>
>>61611772
Phillip don't handle torque like an allen or torx head.
Phillips don't require a good secure seating of the screwdriver like allen or torx.
Phillips are designed to fail by destroying the screwdriver but it almost always fails unlike allen & torx.
Phillips only have their "universal" thing going for them, the belief that one phillips head screwdriver works on all phillips head screws but even that's a lie. Phillips heads are like JPG: normally good enough but outdated and often used in the wrong use scenario.
>>
I've always been a fan of square drive screws myself.
Only place I ever see them is in decking and cabinetry though.
>>
>>61612199
The worst thing isn't even Phillips.

But fucking Pozidriv.
That shit messes up all the fucking time, and is even harder to find the correct screwdriver for than Phillips.

Oh no, wouldn't want that to happen.
>>
Why do people use screw drivers that have a torque handle on applications like this?? If you want a quick easy way to fuck your shit up don't use these on electronics because you'll end up accidentally torquing something down too much.
