I'm not sure about MTV, but some trackers are really slow and if you get the "unregistered torrent" error then you actually start the torrent waaaaaaaaay after everyone else because most clients take forever to re-check after getting that error.
Another likely culprit would be the 1000 other people all sharing the same box as you are actually using the box at the same time.

You can, but just make sure you use the same email address each time so you don't get accused of trying to make duplicate accounts. If one of them tries to invite you after you've already accepted an invitation they will just get a message saying the email address is already in use. Regardless, when you get an invite you should message everyone you messaged from before and tell them not to bother inviting you as a courtesy.
