Do you want a systray notification to change output device in or just in app? How many options do you want? Just switch between speaker, jack, headset? Priority device (say if speaker is priority plugging in headphone or connecting bluetooth headset won't change the output until you change it)?

Anything that is within the environment is easy and intuitive.
Anything that is outside the environment is a hackjob to implement and the majority of iPhone users don't go there because it is inconvenient.
