/var/lib/portage/world is basically everything you typed
emerge x
for, it's a way of managing what's not a dependency. When you run emerge --depclean, it removes everything that won't interfere with world.

Using the buildserver's world file is telling your portage that you should have every package installed.
>>
>>61544006
You should make that the default one on github, to avoid confusion
>>
>>61544034
That makes sense. I'll have to add in the ones I use to that default one.
>>
>>61544068
You could also do emerge --noreplace vlc thunderbird etc
>>
Okay then I have three questions

First, my laptop does not detect my router because I use a WPA2 password system I tried to use wpa_paraphrase in root but get stuck in the process
I also try manually edit the wpa_supplicant.conf but can't because it says can't open the file when I save
Any help on that?

Second, I try to install steam but can't because of an error of LibGL telling that libGL error unable to load driver swrast_dri.so and swrast
What is wrong did I forget to install a driver?

Third, is there anyway I can modify the applications menu add or delete things I would not like?
>>
>>61544200
Use "Wifi" (wpa_gui) like in https://a.doko.moe/cngnzh.mp4

I'll try installing Steam right now and get back to you

The "wifi" app in the application menu can't detect WPA2 access points you have to do that in the root or edit the wpa_supplicant.conf file

okay, so i did both at the sasme tieperame, will try again tely but i have 2/3 questions:

1. In the installation, on the partitioning, should i put manual or automatic? i have been using manual

2. If 1 is manualthen what file type should i put? should i keep it as ext4 or use ntfs like the windows partitions?

3. What am i looking for after finishing the installation and it reboots? i've never dualbooted before so i don't know if i have to go and manually boot in the second OS or if when the pc starts it asks which OS i want to use.

No, people onlythinkthey do because someone has convinced them that more flags are better. Aggressive flags will only hurt applications when used system-wide. Even the GCCmanualsays that using-funroll-loopsand-funroll-all-loopswill make code larger and run more slowly. Yet for some reason, these two flags, along with-ffast-math,-fforce-mem,-fforce-addr, and similar flags, continue to be very popular among ricers who want the biggest bragging rights.

If you have a GPT drive and UEFI Windows 10 install;

Boot the CloverOS livecd
Use manual partitioning
Make a 1mb partition at the start of the drive
Make an ext4 partition
Put in partition name in install script (example: /dev/sda6)
>>
Then change laptop to BIOS boot to run CloverOS. Change back to UEFI to run Win10

i've ried that already but i had CSM enabled, i don't know if that affected it

How come I can't execute some files in /usr/bin/? because I just downloaded some program and trying to click on it but nothing happens?
>>
>>61579278
did they successfully install? did you try to emerge those programs?
>>
>>61579278
When you execute a CLI program from a GUI file explorer it won't show anything because you are not in a terminal emulator. You'll have to open the program in a terminal emulator yourself. If you want to open a GUI program, there may be an error occuring, try to start it from the terminal and look if any errors occure.
>>
>>61580192
so is there anyway I can execute those files through the terminal?
>>
>>61580787
they're in path

you just type it in

emerge ncmpcpp
ncmpcpp
>>
>>61580787
/usr/bin should be in your $PATH (you can check this with `echo $PATH`), so you could just run "program" when it's full path is /usr/bin/program.

you can use the ubuntu minimal installer and then install the DE/WM using apt.

GIMP can do anything Photoshop can do but better, and for free. I'm sick and tired of these photoshop industry fat cats going around pretending like their software is so superior when GIMP can do literally anything it can do, only better and for free!

Photoshop is a goddamn globalist conspiracy to rob control from the people. I'm not going to stand by and tolerate it anymore. You gotta get GIMP! You gotta get that open-source! Here's what you do, alright. You install yourself Linux, you install yourself GIMP, and you go to town! Oh, what's that? What's that? "But I can't center text in GIMP!" Motherfucker, GIMP takes off the training wheels, alright? You're gonna be a better person when you learn how to manually center text! Get on its level! You can't trust anybody who says Photoshop is better! Don't let the globalists win! All we need is GIMP!
