IMHO save the PSU and the case and ditch everything else. The 6970 makes more noise than a vacuum cleaner and AMD CPUs always seem to run hot.

Get some high-end DDR3 RAM and then overclock the shit out of the CPU with a proper heatsink, and you might be able to squeeze a year out of this machine

the older AIO should be able to handle a decent overclock, but if you want the best the phenom can actually put out, youre going to need a big fucking air cooler or something with a more modern water block design

those things get toasty, 125w stock tdp and overclocked can reach much higher

but then it turns into "is it worth dropping 50-70$ on a cooler for an old ass system"
