Didn't know where to put this but I guess writing instruments are tech.
I received a Lamy safari pen last Christmas but it has run out of ink a long while ago.
I want to start using it but the official cartridges are pretty expensive.
I mean, my first fountain pen (jinhao) + an extra 5 pack of ink is half the price of lamys refills.
are there any generic chinkshit inks or cheaper refillable cartridges and bottles of ink that are compatible with Lamy?

You could buy bottled ink and refill your Lamy cartridges with a syringe.
Since I moved to Japan I started using FriXion pens and they are amazing.

Lamy is selling refillable cartridges too:

Yes. Works with standard cartridges, I can't imagine why it wouldn't with Lamy ones.

they're all expensive though. just wonder if there were chinkshit versions that are still compatible with lamys
Aww yis, this is my thread.
These are my mechanical pencils.

ok cool. what's the best cheapest ink that comes in a bottle?
preferably in black
>>61517959
Depends on where you live, maybe Parker Quink or Pelikan 4001. Just make sure you get ink meant for fountain pens, the other kind will clog your pen.

Assuming you live in Germany because Lamy is not particularly popular outside Germany, Müller has cheapish Pelikan glass-bottles of black ink for a really low price, in different sizes.

Pilot Iroshizuku bottles are beautiful and also well priced.

Nothing can beat this https://www.amazon.com/Ink-350ml-INK350B-japan-import/dp/B001P2XUAY
It comes in an actual bottle sized bottle and is only about $0.06 per ml.
