As much as I hate to agree with the app-holes, they got it right. One port is fine. A laptop's primary purpose is to be portable. On the go, you're not likely to be plugging in more than a flash drive or something. When you get back to your home or office and you want to use an external keyboard, a non-bluetooth mouse, an external hard drive, and all the other various and sundry things you see a need to have, use a hub. Literal one wire hookup for coming back to or leaving home base.

My ideal (in the current generation at least) is 1 USB 2.0, 1 USB 3.1 (regular connection), 1 USB 3.1 (USB C connection), and 1 or more Thunderbolt 3 (which use USB C connector)
