Guys I don't know if this is the right thread.

But I got a Ulefone power 2, but suddenly the quickcharger stopped quickcharging. This phone now takes about 30h to fully charge instead of +/-3h. Does anyone what could be the problem? The charger still works like a fastcharger on other phones..

Nothing has changed

https://www.sammobile.com/2017/06/27/samsung-ui-fluidity-problem-needs-fixing

>Of all the current generation high-end phones that I have used (and I’ve used most of them), the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have the worst performance when it comes to scrolling and smoothness of UI. Even though the LG G6 and the Google Pixel have the previous-generation Snapdragon 821 processor, they fare better in this regard. Much cheaper phones from Xiaomi have a smoother UI as well.

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/04/samsung-galaxy-s8-review-shiny-new-hardware-meets-old-software-habits/5/#h2

>Actual in-app performance on the Galaxy S8 is not great. The Google Pixel raised the bar for what smooth Android performance looks like, and the Galaxy S8 just can't keep up. In the above picture you see Android's built-in GPU profiler mode. Each vertical line is the time it takes to draw a single frame, with the horizontal green bar representing 60FPS. Bars under the green line rendered in time, resulting in smooth 60FPS scrolling. Bars that overshoot the line took too long to render, resulting in a stutter in the UI animation.

>Even in the lowest resolution possible—1480×720—the Galaxy S8 still drops a ton of frames when scrolling complicated apps like the Play Store. The highly optimized Google Pixel—at its full 2560×1440 resolution—is easily getting frames in on time. And even if things do slow down, there's a sizable amount of render time still.

>No matter what resolution you pick on the Galaxy S8, scrolling (especially scrolling slowly) has this weird stutter to it and a slight ghosting effect. Not everyone is sensitive to small performance issue like this, but if you are, you'll find the S8 a little unpleasant to use. I wish Samsung focused more on optimizing the whole display and GPU stack to hit 60FPS and run more smoothly, rather than adopting the raw benchmark focus the company seems to have now.

Before I pirate MX Player again I might as well ask you guys for an alternative.

Is there any video player that remembers that you want your videos to loop?

VLC and even the stock video player can make a video loop if you check a box, but it only works for that one video and only that instance of the app. If you close it and open another video or even the same video again, it doesn't remember that you want it looped.

And some people value that battery life over other things like power. When people value the battery life less, they can look into other components of the phone that can be improved for good value. While it's true that there's nothing intense enough to truly take advantage of the latest high-end processors, they'll still remain strong until some time from now. If you look around, people often suggest the redmemes because they give good value and relative power for their cost, and people don't often suggest S8s or stuff like that. It's all about what people value, it may be the case that you see a lot of people valuing the "strength" of the phone because they value the other things more.

You mean it's better because it costs more? Or because it feels the same but has worse battery life?

>>
>>61508906
What I mean would be that I would often go for phones which yield better value for my money. I agree that the SD625 is pretty good right now, and the SD82* series can be a little excessive. But some people make purchases with the intent of the phone lasting, it can be argued you can make your phone last longer by buying it stronger. I see people here with Note 4's and OPO's which I assume they have bought on release date, or close to it. People tend to keep their phones until they feel the need to replace it. There's nothing wrong with getting an SD625, and while there's no real reason yet to get something with an SD82*, it's not entirely wrong to do so. It's all within the budget of the person purchasing. Different strokes for different folks, I say.
I, for one, am waiting for a new phone coming out with an SD660. It'll last me a good while, upgrading from my redmeme note 3 pro.
>>
>>61508873
>While it's true that there's nothing intense enough to truly take advantage of the latest high-end processors, they'll still remain strong until some time from now.
But the phones with stronger SoC already have subpar battery life. The battery will further degrade and make them inconvenient to use way earlier than some battery efficient SoC (say SD625) becomes too underpowered for day-to-day tasks. Anyway phones with weaker SoCs are way cheaper so you can affrd to exchange them more often. It's hardly ecnomical to by SD820.

So why would people buy stronger SoC apart from gayyming on a phone (which is retarded)? Please help me I want to understand.

Hello,

I search for a new phone but I don't really know what to get.
My preferences are a min. 1080p screen, a newer 64bit cpu like the snapdragon 650 or 820/21, 3-4GB Ram, min. 32GB storage, sd slot, a removable battery would be a nice to have and it should not cost a fortune. I may even buy it used. Can you recommend something?

Chink phones tend to cheap out on some parts that I enjoy

Example my current chink phone screen crushes blacks, from 0-15 all black shades are absolutely the same, black. Also white isn't white, it's tinted quite blue.

The audio quality with speakers is just straight trash, using headphones it's okay but my phone can't power any headphones over 32ohms very well at all. It also just doesn't sound great in general

Also my charger port arrived slightly fucked, but sending the phone back would be a huge pain and end up costing so much it's not even worth it.

I can't complain about the UI since I can fix it if I really give a shit to change software but yeah, it's also not great.

Normies won't care but if I'm gonna spend decent money on it and use it a huge amount of the time I'd rather not get chink'd and at least buy from a reputable brand, even if it's made in China.

I'd say the OP5, the OP3T if you can find a screaming deal. If you need a good screen protector, don't get the 3/3t though. The OEM curved glass one was the only good one that worked. They discontinued it as soon as the 5 rolled out.

I'm waiting for the 5 to go down in price first though,m maybe a "black friday" like sale will come up, or a bundle deal.
>>
>>61516496
For what reasons do you recommend the OP5 over the V20, besides the processor and price?
The screen, removable battery, IR blaster, microSD slot, camera, and DAC make the V20 significantly more apealing in my eyes
icing on the cake is the case/screen protector, I want an idiot-proof case for whatever device I get
last two phones I've owned have had an otterbox case and a tempered glass screen protector

How is a fuckhuge screen with barely visible resolution more appealing? Makes you device harder to use and going past 1080 on a phone is just pointless, unless it's 7 inches. On a 5.5/5.7 it's just gonna drain your battery so OP5 is a clear better choice in this regard.

That's the problem, you said it yourself. Gooks can manufacture one-hit wonder people who will spend their entire lives in one factory, making one thing and doing it well. I received my RN4 global edition.
It's surprisingly well built and responsive, what surprised me the most was MIUI, it's decent to say the least, I'm stuck with it for the mean time until the 72 hrs mi account bind time is over, which is a silly requirement if you want to unlock the bootloader.

Emulation is completely different thing from the native OS. There's no reason why it'd run worse on 720p than on 1440p. See pic related, it's S8+, LG G6 and Pixel all at the same resolution.

Could be because it's the Exynos version. With S7 and S7 edge it was the Snapdragon version that performed worse. So perhaps Samsung does a better job optimizing on their own SoC than on Snapdragon. It could also be because you and your mate just haven't tried anything smoother so with the reference you have it feels smooth enough.

Also it's not only smoothness that the S8 has problems with, it's also slower than it should be loading apps:

I kind of got mine free. BOGO on their site said I only have to activate one. So I buy two, get one free, sell the second, and it's almost getting the first one free.

are the moto phones any good? I'm in canadaland & it's for my mom coming from an old s3

Moto G5 Plus

>>61522223
They're fine. Good specs for the price and stock, bloat-free android. Biggest issue with them is Lenovo being shit with their updates.

Why in the name of Christ are you interested in a dead phone platform?

Gentlemen, I have been searching for a suitable smartphone for 3 yrs while my Lumia bothered me to death.

Please gimme a recommendation. I need a decent camera which is able to take pics like picrelated at least, 720p vids (some stabilization would be desirable). Besides this, I need a decent battery (4Ah would be ok) and the price not higher than 220$.

Yeah and I don't want to fuck with ROM, just buy and use at once.

Are there any options?

You don't need to fuck with the ROM, just use MIUI

Well, obviously. It's a 2017 flagship.

What does is imply? I've never used these chinkphones. Sounds like
> fuck with ROM
to me
>>
>>61522361
It means
>open box
>use phone
>>
>>61522344
cool, thanks. My last few phones were chinkshit and Samsung so wasn't sure if LG was good or not
>>
>>61522391
How is it so cheap?
>>
>>61522190
My previous phone was a Nexus 5, if you've ever used one you'll know that on kitkat with ART it was possibly the smoothest phone on the market *insert famous Nexus 5 vs iPhone webm*

As for performance issues, i can believe that but a stuttering ui is something i just can't believe for any phone since I've yet to see it. Even my mother's s3 doesn't lag and runs fairly well for something so old.

It could just be the snapdragon version but until i see it personally i find it difficult to believe.

What are the best ROMs for a Redmi Note 3 Pro?

Had CM on mine, but it got stuck in a boot loop so I had to wipe it.
>>
>>61522425
MIUI is the stock ROM it comes with. The way you wrote here >>61522425 makes it seem like you think you NEED to mess with the ROM with chinkphones. I'm just saying it's fine to use as is.

They are almost always more expensive than buying the phone and a good prepaid separately.
Don't fall for the jew tricks, anon.
>>
>>61522498
So what are the main pitfalls?
>>
>>61522630
Not him but I have exactly zero problems with my Xiaomi (only had it for a week though).
>>
>>61522651
I am still not convinced. Why are there so many foruma discussing rewriting the chinkphone ROM due to so many fuckups in their software?
>>
>>61522630
It's more bloated than touchwiz and was inspired by ios.

Get a chinkphone brand that's using stock Android, like Vernee.
>>
>>61522910
>Vernee
They're even worse, they might use stock Android but their phones are full of bugs

>>61521808

>>61522910
Can confirm, vernee Apollo lite is great for the price.
>>
>>61522843

Link?

Just werks.
You can change launcher and notification bar looks OK.
What else bothers you?

Xiamoi camera sucks. Honor seems way better
>>
>>61522934
Had a redmi 3 pro, was not impressed. Miui ran like shit and after half a year I was getting almost half the SoT I had when it was new.

Currently on a Meizu m3x and it's so much better. Vernee phones look interesting too, might consider the Apollo 2 if they tone down a bit on bezels...

Otherwise I'll probably wait for the mi mix 2 to get lineage support and just buy that instead.
>>
>>61522955
Do some research
>>
>>61523076
Honor has much better camera performance than Xiaomi. Even the redmi 5 was shit and it was using a kick ass Sony sensor.

>>61523077
Why didn't you just flash cm or some other custom rom on your phone then?
>>
I had a dream I bought an lg g5 for $200

Fuck me I meant the mi5.

But yeah Xiaomi really needs to step up their camera game.

My brother has a Zuk Z2 Pro and it's got a really nice camera especially considering he bought the phone for 380aud.

BQ, Apple are some examples of that.

However, once you commit your company to be European, you also have to commit to ethical business practices concerning people power. Labour shops are not an option at that point, lest incurring heavy penalties from the govt. Also, taxes are pure bullshit in Europe. Asia is simply a better business choice.

From what I've seen from the Mi6 they have, especially when you consider it's half the price compared to other SD835 phones

Honor turns out to be quite expensive in my Cuckmany. Is it too bad to buy on Ali Express?
>>

Still not as good as meizu, zuk, or honor
>>
>>61523358
Not ali express, but I have a very funny piece of anecdotal evidence, mein Freund.

A buddy of mine bought on DX.com or something. Quad core, 2GB RAM, etc.
What did he get? An octa-core, 3GB RAM and everything one tier better. For the same price.
