I guess it depends on what you mean by "making it run", short answer I'm gonna say probably not.

The boot loader sets up UEFI GOP with a 640x480x32 linear video buffer. In TempleOS, I allocate a 32 bit frame buffer *gop_fb and patch the raw char routines to call UEFIGopRawPutChar which plots the character to the frame buffer instead of vga_alias.

To update the display, in TempleOS I call UEFIGopBlt which effectively does
Gop->Blt(Gop, *gop_fb, EfiBltBufferToVideo, 0, 0, 0, 0, 640, 480, 0); in the UEFI application.

So, under UEFI it is "running" with a 32 bit color display. Everything stays 640x480x4 (16 color) internally with TempleOS raw and Gr routines, and gets translated to 32 bit color value when writing to the display.

Could someone write programs to use different screen modes and 32 bit color depth? Of course. I won't be doing that, but there's nothing stopping someone from doing so.

Now, "making it run" - if I understand this correctly, "Is there any chance of someone coming along and rewriting all the code for WinMgr and every TempleOS app that Terry wrote to make them resolution independent and take advantage of enhanced color depth" it is possible but unlikely to find someone to fill those shoes.

I know that the old website provides plenty of information, but a quick rundown could get people and developers interested into TOS who are just here for the Terry memes. using only cyan magenta yellow and black with a pattern and dithering, it will reduce the resolution... see pic
The data, the dithering picture can be saved : 1pixel for 1bit in Black&White, processing it back with the pattern to restor cmy and restoring the colors.

Holy shit. Terty is in BAD SHAPE. Check out Terry's latest two videos (as of this timestamp). He is depressed and way out of it.

I think this is what happens when he "gets in trouble" or "falls from grace". Notice there's no beer. No partying. He's somber. Quiet. Almost like he has been scolded, or grounded.

Considering the anon above actually did contact the FBI about his drunk driving, I wonder if his father heard from them today, and if Terry was punished as a result. He probably got driving privileges revoked, and told to stop drinking beer.

Just an arbitrary base below 0x7C00 that's unlikely to get clobbered by UEFI's malloc. I could probably VirtualAlloc 1K in that range to ensure that doesn't happen, or store the address of UEFI malloc in a reg var and handle it during TempleOS startup, eliminating the need to hardcode a function pointer.

Yeah, my goal was to hack together some sort of glue layer between C and HolyC with x86 assembly. My biggest problems is type conversions, especially when it comes to strings, since UEFI uses unicode and TOS uses some weirdo custom ASCII.

Also and despite the fact that I am currently occupied with work and university junk, I want to try to port the entire graphics library to GOP blits in order to support native resolution with full color. This should be viable in terms of performance, since, if the IHVs implement GOP correctly, the blit should be done in parallel, which could take a lot of load off the CPU while still being 100% compatible with every GPU out there. I also hope that this will make people convert to TOS who otherwise reject it as a meme. DolDoc in 1440p (in 4:3 of course) would be the shit. A first step would be implementing """"hardware sprites"""" as independently controllable blit rectangles.
