Unless you plan on doing 500+ part assemblies, literally any toaster can run Solidworks. I had SW2013 running on a D630 laptop with no issues.

Probably a lenovo with a Quadro in it

My $800 MSI gaming laptop from last summer with a 950m runs Civil 3D and Solidworks flawlessly with semi-big projects

most likely not. My Hp pavilion dv4-5113cl is becoming a brick and I can't get SW to run at a decent speed despite optimizing the power and lowering the graphics rendering for SW

My Thinkpad Yoga S1 with the i5 runs medium size Solidworks assemblies great with that. Not sure what the issue is for you.

Complex FEA and rendering take a while, but I rarely need that.
