You do realize that eGPU literally means External GPU right?

So your big 1080Ti or whatever the fuck you want to use, sits inside of a case that is cooled on it's own outside.

Your iGPU is not used on your laptop. It will run quietly and cool.

You can connect all your peripherals like mouse, keyboard, gigabit ethernet and monitor on the external box....and when you get home, just use a SINGLE TB3/USB-C cable to connect to your MacBook Pro. This same cable will also power and charge your MacBook Pro.
