Hi, guys.

I'm on the hunt for a phone since my XCover 3 is never getting root. After looking at LineageOS supported devices I found they're too much of a pain in the ass. My top limit is about 250$, but since Czech prices are shit compared to US, I would count that a 200$US phone will be about the limit for me.

My requirements:

ROOTABLE, I don't want Gapps
replacable battery would be a nice feature
MicroSD card slot is a must, I listen to a lot of music in my spare time, but if hard pressed I might go without it

That's pretty much it, I suppose. Anyone got any recommendations? Thanks, guys, I really appreciate your help.

>>
>>61440267
No one should buy the p10 unless you want to play roulette on the speed of your fucking phone. Look up "P10 storage issue"

You should also NOT get the LG v30. No removable battery, LG still hasn't updated the v20 to 7.1.1, and they are known for dropping support on their phones. LG v20 is still an awesome phone, and is only ~$400
>>
>>61440358
My main issue with the Axon 7 is the fact that no one can confirm that it uses it's AKM DAC in anything but the stock music player. The phone was parading HIFI, and it defaults to the Snap820's DAC.

Post some pics of the apparently shitty music player, and try switching audio to see if there is a difference. NOT DOLBY.
Also how do you like the capacitive buttons? I really like how i don't have to use Android's FUCKING horrible "Soft Keys" that take up the screen real estate

>>61440455
I don't get how people on /g/ don't rage against the on-screen Android buttons.
The screen is usually only 5-6", and you're going to take that up with gay ass software buttons? Every phone has an unused bezel, put hidden buttons there or something.
How can you argue FOR software buttons? Bezelless screens are just now coming out.

I'm not much of an audiophile these days, so I can't answer the first one for you. But playing audio thru the stock music player and the Play Music app showed no difference for me.
The buttons are great, the ability to change their behaviors is a plus for me. Some wish they were backlit tho, not an issue for me atm

What's a good smartphone with the following features:

Removable battery.
As card slot.
About 5 inch screen. 1440 preferable but 1080p works.
Headphone jack.
More powerful than an LG v10.

A physical keyboard would be nice too (no portrait failure keyboard...ever.) but not required.

So what fits this honestly easy as Hell fairly average feature set?

Well every iPhone ever has had a sealed battery and they still sell like hotcakes, I guess the average buyer just doesn't care about having a removable battery that much. LG G5 and V20 were the last flagship phones that still had a removable battery, G6 doesn't and V30 most likely won't either.

I have a Motorola Moto G4 Play, and I am looking to upgrade to a new phone this coming Friday. I was thinking about getting a Sony Xperia X Performance, or a ZTE Axon 7. My budget is around $400. i live in the United States, and I'll be using it on T-Mobile. Can anyone recommend a good phone for me? I want an upgrade, so Snapdragon 820 3/4 GB RAM is preferred.

Looking for a phone around 100 bux. Screen can be as small as 4 inch, but it should have decent sound chip as I listen to music. Spec wise, I don't know today standard but I'm fine with 8gb rom/1gb ram. I don't root either but it would be nice if OS is basic as much as possible. Living in South East Asia, I'm open for even chinks phone.
Thanks in advance

Hi guys.

I'm trying to find something to replace my three-year-old Android phone with. Android has pissed me right the fuck off so far and it looks like the new versions are only getting worse, so I'm hoping for something else.

My options are basically these:
- get a second-hand BlackBerry Q10 ($90) right now
- get a new iPhone SE ($400) in a few weeks

What would you do?
>>
>>61451691
Oh damn nice. Why didn't I try it. It works as I like, but hopefully there is nothing to get disappointed later on.

Either the Blu R15 HD (60$ 5 inch 720p 2 gigs ram) or the Moto e 4 (100$ 5 inch 720p 2 gigs ram and fingerprint sensor).

You couldn't have chosen devices that are more different than those.

That iPhone model is the shittiest they've released in a long time, senpai. Better use an old ass Nokia for some months to save up for a 4.7" or a 5.5" iPhone. I'll sugest the plus models, they are not that big and they have bigger batteries, better cameras, higher resell value, etc. Some anons may argue that the non plus models are for manlets and cucks.

Non Android Blackberries are dead. The last model released was the Z10 in 2015. But if you still want that physical keyboard, the Classic model is also cheap when bought used, and it is the update of the Q10.

I don't know what phone you have, but I was also very pissed at android until I got a Nexus 5X. Stock Android is so much better than Samsung Shite.

How does one conquer the problem of WhatsApp (among other apps) notifications not arriving some times?

I had this problem on Marshmallow (CM13), and I still have it on Nougat (LineageOS). I've always had battery optimization turned off for WhatsApp.
On Marshmallow I "solved" it by using a Tasker plugin to check if WhatsApp process was running and notifying me when it died for whatever reason. This doesn't work on Nougat, because that Tasker plugin just sits there doing nothing at all.

What do?

This is what an applefag looks like when he can not or will not answer a simple question, just so everybody else knows. I asked what you will do when your iphone stops being supported. Because I already know what I'll do, and it costs me nothing.
>have fun purchasing a brand new phone for hundreds of dollars just for security updates

Keep in mind that evil marketers across the globe advertise storage capacity as if 1KB = 1000 bytes. In reality 1KB = 1024 bytes. This means that you lose ~5% of every MB, ~7% of every GB, and ~9% of every TB to the evil marketers.

So, a storage medium (hard drive, flash, etc) advertised as 64GB really only has 59GB. If Android takes up/reserves ~5GB then that leaves you with 54GB.

Annoying, I know, but every tech company in the world (that I know of) uses the same evil marketing scheme.

>only get 3gb/month
Yeah, not gonna be enough for streaming. I'd get the 128gb just to be on the safe side, you'll pay more now but it being the 128gb version will also increase the resale value of it.

Not for the RAM, but for the storage possibly (can't move apps to SD on MIUI)

Apple only drops support when it becomes technically unfeasible. They're still supporting their first 64-bit handset from 2013 too, so...yeah. Why is it so hard to admit that support beyond the first year is a major weakness for Android handsets? Apple does a lot of bullshit, but this is one area where they do things right.

Nokia 7 with sd 660 and 5 inch display when?
>>
>>61457146
Why is it so hard to answer a question? I'm asking what you can do once apple does cut your support. You're avoiding the question because you know the answer is
>nothing
>>
>>61457057
I answered your question you retard. Good job attacking iOS with Android's biggest glaring weakness tho
>>
>>61457243
ask this question again in 4 years when it's actually relevant. Good luck getting Android O on your phone

>>61439195
hey /spg/
is the Xiaomi Mi6 the best flagship? that price sounds unbeatable
>>
>>61457262
But you didn't answer it. I asked "what will you do". You said "it's a long support cycle". English sure is hard.

>>61457274
>ask it again later because I don't want to answer it now
Thanks for the well wishes with Android O, chum.

>>61457421
Yes.

>>61457463
implication being that I'll keep my currently supported device until that happens YEARS FROM NOW. At which point I'll upgrade like everyone else

try seeing if you can turn off mobile data in the settings. Seems like it would try to do anything without a sim but who knows. I have an old 1st gen Moto G I use for an alarm clock and I keep it in airplane mode and only turn wifi on selectively when needed

Coming from the faggot who previously lol'd at flagship priced phones (iPhone definitely counts as flagship price). But if it's Apple, you'd pay anything :^)

>>61458306
Mobile data is already off, I wouldn't consider it a cause. The screen seems to be taking the most, about 70% now.

>battery drains quickly
So I know that might be kind of fast for a brand new phone, but after being used to my phone, I look at that with envy. I've had the same phone for years, and it's still got the original battery in it. I have 45-60 minutes of screen on time, and the battery dies at around 25%. Yeah, that bad. Even if I don't use it all day, it'll still die before the day is over. Using it for GPS drains the battery so fast I can watch it tick down lol.
