honestly anywhere i've worked that required a PC would provide a PC for me to use. I can't imagine doing anything on my own time that required a big Ryzen chip to perform efficiently

I was using an overclocking mb and a non k cpu for a while as well, the k cpu I wanted was sold out but I still wanted to build. At least you can upgrade to a k cpu if you wanted to

on 1155 you can oc the locked 15/i7 4 bins past max turbo. If you throw caution to the wind and crank the bclk as well you can get surprising results. Too bad they axed it with Haswell.

AMD processors weren't a viable option for like 5 years until ryzen's release. Of course people are still going to have Intel hardware unless they built a new system very recently.
