Just make something. If you have some console programs, make a UI for them. Might not be needed, but its good practice for when it is.
A few general tips: Pick a sans-serif font and stick to it. Pick a colourscheme and stick to it. Colours should be friendly, as in not eye-seering. There are a few websites that help with this. Start by copying websites/programs that you like in terms of UI/UX. Target your designs to the likely demographic of whatever you are making.
