Do you realize how much energy exists in matter?
Sending it through an electrical line at a steady pace is a colossal challenge, IF you even manage to convert said matter into energy.
It's lossy, you WILL lose energy. Let's take a reasonable 20% loss to a SHITLOAD of energy that could wipe a country off the surface of the earth. You now have to recoup that with a generator at the other side.
Not to mention you have to perfectly assemble all matter at the other end, ASAP, and then set it into motion again without fucking more than a few trillion atoms.
