I get emails from my bank, my country's tax department etc. So for personal stuff, it's useful. It's pretty much entirely replaced snail mail.

As for work, if it doesn't come in my inbox, I ignore it. Fuck calling me or talking to me on some lame chat. I reserve my right to be unavailable outside work hours.
