I will start:
MPV - an amazingly good media player. It's faster than anything I've used before. The only feature that I miss are thumbnails on a timeline.

KeePassX for password manager, you should use a password manager and not listen to idiots telling otherwise.
JDownloader to download everything, I don't know why this isn't mentioned more often, is crazy.
GThumb, image organizer and I personally use it for quick crop and other simple stuff.
