How do you get a non-garbage file picker in Linux (Or KDE for that matter)

I thought this was fixed in KDE?
>>
Summer, use dolphin, not nautilus (aka gnome files).
>>
>>61386125
?

I am using dolphin. This is default KDE. The filepicker works in most other apps besides Firefox.

Why?
>>
>>61386134
Because Firefox is compiled with GTK file picker by default.
OpenSUSE has it patched, but I don't know about any other distro that does it.
>>
You can try to find the patched version, install opensuse or arch, or use qupzilla
>>
>>61386179
This. The Qt file picker is great when you get to use it, but Firefox (and I believe Chromium) don't use it. You'd need to use qupzilla that actually uses Qt to get it.
>>
>>61386154
>>61386179
I'm using arch, and I installed kde-firefox-opensuse or whatever. and it WORKS, BUT:

It randomly doesnt select the file.
For example if you go Browse> select file, 50% of the time nothing will happen
You have to select the file a bunch of times before it actually works.

Why the fuck is this shit so hard for freetards to prorgram?

What am I suppose to do?
>>
>>61386187
So what? You just cant get a good file picker on Linux browsers? Is that what you're saying?

SAD???
>>
>>61386188
IDK, works on my machine?
Try starting Firefox with dbus-launch? Other than "file a bug report" I don't know what to suggest
>>
>>61386196
I'm saying Firefox & Chromium use the GTK file picker. The Chromium one though does have image previews, just checked it there.
>>
>>61386225
what distro?

Is Kde + Arch default simply missing features of other KDE distros such as KDE Neon?

I'm just wondering if KDE is kinda fucked up on Arch?

>>61386234
Hmm..so i gotta ditch Firefox just for decent file picker? sad...
>>
>>61386225
'dbus-launch firefox'

does not solve it.
>>
>>61386267
OK, sorry
>>
>>61386188
>What am I suppose to do?

Stop using Firefox under kde and use chromium. Firefox got my middle finger long time ago because of this.

lmfao, already glitched/crashed

Linux is fucking worthless.
>>
And also chromium asks "Do you want to set default browser"

Every single time I open it. Even if I hit yes/make it default in KDE

Linux is bad.
Linux is not worth your time.

Really tragic.

>inb4 someone says try another desktop enviorment

Lol, theyre literally all worse than KDE, and KDE is pretty much unusable as well.

It's almost like the only people who use linux do nothing but text editors / terminal

LOL

Maybe your lack of IQ is not the fault of the kernel?
>>
>>61386626
If you don't like it, go back to windows. Nobody is forcing you to use Linux. But regardless, Arch is a meme and you fell for it hard
>>
>>61386626
Please stay on Windows.
>>
>>61386626
It's called override software rendering list

The rest you google because that's already extreme spoonfeeding
>>
>>61386554
It can't even align the icons correctly. KDE still failing as usual.
>>
>I don't know how to use linux
>I'm going to choose Arch because of all the skiddie circlejerking
>I'm going to expect this to be fully stable and people to spoonfeed me all the time

Cock sucker.

STOP. JUST STOP.

Perhaps Linux just isn't for you. Maybe you should try some other OS that doesn't let you fuck up. OS that you don't have full control of like Windows example.

You are obviously not capable to use Linux so why bother?

It's just not for you. So stop, please.

so why havent they fixed this anyway? too much spaghetti code? because the thumbnails are there, but they are so small... gnome devs are just fucking with us
>>
>>61386036
>>61388283

this. just stop using it and start using something you know better. just like that the problem is solved.
>>
If you are using arch, you could download firefox-kde-opensuse.
>>
>>61386036
Don't use firefox.
>>
>>61386533
Install kdialog or it will use gtk's shit anyways.

People like this retard here is why Linux will always be considered a hobby OS on the desktop, and why Windows will be *always* dominant.
