And the eCommerce part which goes on for almost the entire image clearly says that they add an affiliate code (basically &ref=duckduckgo at the end of the amazon links) so Amazon just knows that you visited the site through DDG. I mean i guess that bothers some people but it's a non-issue.
And the end part is just hilarious. Blaming a search engine for knowing your user agent which is data provided by the browser. If you want it hidden there are plenty of extensions to do it. Same for the IP. DDG can only pretend not to know your IP but unless you use a VPN every website will.

Yes, with Firefox is pretty easy, you can use the search box functionality for that: if I want to search something in amazon I type "a dragon dildos" in the address bar (at least with vimperator), or something in wikipedia "w hitler"

DDG is nice to fight the monopoly of google without much compromises.

The bangs are a great feature too that I can't live without since I use keyboard to navigate the web.

Lastly it's easy to talk family and friends (even elderly) people over from google which in the end is more important.

DDG is a botnet. I used to use it before I found out that it tracks the fuck out of users and the owner used to have a email harvesting company that data mined its users. I'd rather use Google and know that I'm getting data mined upfront.

searx then startpage because searx kinda sucks. Most of the time I search directly on the websites I know I'll find an answer though
