My few Windows Servers are patched and SMB-based ransomware attacks dont worry me as mostly GNU/Linux user, + I got backups, as I said I only got few patched Windows clients using that share(server runs ganoo loonix too), and my share isn't public facing, it is only available on my LAN. I think I'm pretty safe from ransomshit-attacks. Point is, is ownCloud any better than having a SMB share?
