Is VR already over?
How many of these do they have gathering dust in the warehouse they are having a 60% off launch price fire sale just a year after its release?

It was over before it even started. Some of us just fell for the hype.
I bought a Vive first day and now it is indeed gathering dust.
It's not about the lack of games
It's not about the technology
It's not about the price
It's not even about the motion controls
The concept is fundamentally flawed. VR is too isolating for everyday use.

>It's not about price.
That's not true.

I think it makes an excellent niche peripheral, like HOTaS or racing wheels. If they had to try to trick a bunch of normalfags into buying it in order to get devs to support it then that's fine by me. I can't wait to try it out with games like subnautica, dirt, and dcs

it's not just about the isolation or the price

It is in my experience as an user. The experience is bad at any price. It doesn't matter how cheap it is, it is just boring.
If it gets cheap enough I guess more people will buy it to try VR, but the market will die right after that.

I want one either at current prices for a monitor replacement, or 300$ with everything included for gaming.
I will never have a dedicated movie room, but with vr you can get a damn good isolated feel and its good
for games, It needs to be cheaper as its a niche or a far higher resolution so I can play normal games on it too without sub 1080p visuals.
For a monitor replacement, the current vr are not good enough yet for reading text
For gaming, shits to expensive and niche for me to drop the 600+$ normally, or 400$ on sale for this.
