My main machine is a laptop from 2012 and spyware 10 required me to install drivers for wifi, ethernet, etc whereas debian of all distros had drivers for the wifi chip OOTB. I don't have a broadcom chip though.

I've used Arch before, but never needed to chroot to fix anything.
Couldn't you just boot the install medium you used and go straight to the arch-chroot part?
