Gimp can

I swap between the two depending on the task. Paint.net I'll use if i want something quick and simple doing. Any more advanced image manipulation or digital illustration and I'll jump to Gimp

Paint.net has a better display and easier to learn.

I prefer GIMP. It's a great way to edit and create digital images.

For my work in the agricultural sector, I often need a quick and easy way to draw green peppers, so photoshop and paint.net are pretty much useless.
