What do you guys think about 1080p and 1440p?

Is 1440p better? If you only do light gaming, would 1440p be superior all around? But what if you watch a lot of 1080p videos, would 1440p be a bad idea?

I am trying to choose between an Acer - G257HU 1440p 25" and a Dell U2417H UltraSharp 24'' 1080p

Which one should I get if all I do is work and watch videos, with light gaming?
>>
I would got 1440.
For video or image editing the extra resolution is nice, videos will just upscale and be fine. Game will look nicer but require more to run.

1440 is pretty comfy for a desktop screen.
>>
>>61344623
you are probably right.

I only play league of faggets anyway
>>
tfw getting rid of my 1440p soon, only 4k and higher for me now
if only 5k monitors were a bit cheaper I'd jump in a heartbeat. And I mean actual decent 5k monitors not 8 bit trash like applel's
>>
>>61344782
which 4k monitor are you looking at famalam?
>>
144hz
>>
1080p is still the resolution of choice for anime enthusiasts as 1080p is the maximum resolution of anime releases right now. This is relevant on 4chan.
>>
>>61344782
What monitor do you have and what monitor are you getting? I bet neither of them are true 10bit and are 8bit+frc same as apple
>>
>>61344597
Buy a 1440p main and a 1080p secondary.
>>
>>61345491
too mu$h
>>
>>61344597
Anyone know a good 1440p 144hz ips ?
>>
Lenovo got an okay 5k display at 27" if I remember correctly, less than £800

1080p releases are just 720p upscaled. It doesn't fucking matter.
>>
I just bought a 4K display, should be a nice upgrade from 1080p.

he probably downloads from horriblesubs
but there are some 1080 releases
>>
>>61345686
How about for TN?
>>
>>61345843
That's good. I just download 720p because the television I use to watch anime is only 736p.
>>

MG279Q

Doesn't matter if you have Nvidia or AMD.

144Hz with adaptive sync is silly. If you're running at 144FPS you're probably running a flagship card and so it doesn't matter.
>>
>>61345755
what do you guys think about this
>>

is this a good monitor?
>>
So relevant question, is G-sync worth it in a new monitor? or just get one with a nice picture and = to 100 or >100hz

I have a 60hz 1080p monitor on a GTX 1070 8GB OC #rebel
>>
99% of what I do on a computer is not made appreciably better on resolutions above 1080p. I can tell the difference. I just don't care about it.

In return I don't have to worry about losing FPS during my casual gaming just because I want to push the resolution.
>>
>>61345924
true. I am running a 1080TI
>>
>>61345793
That's not true. anibin.blogspot.com posts the lineart resolution of every new anime and the majority of them are >720p these days.
>>
>>61346454
Does nVidia have something similar to AMD's VSR? You could just do that.
>>
I cant believe im seriously considering 1080p ovr 1440p because of anime faggot shit
>>
>>61346853
That's a good step forward.
where is the lineart on the site
