Yes screws or glue or brackets.

Lexan is an impact resistant brand of polycarbonate (plexiglas is acrylic) You can get it quite thin and it wont bend or crack.
It does scratch easy, though.
While I'm waiting for my display I use Android VNC via USB!

It works fast via USB and I'm typing this on a keyboard connected directly to the PI. The phone is used only as a display.
