I hope you guys aren't using 3rd party addons and apps to block ads on your devices.

Why not just use Hostsman?

because I don't have to install anything. I put those dns addresses on my router and all my devices connected to it are adfree just like that.

Good question, you can use it on basic routers which does not support hostfiles. Just go to your DHCP setting and put those DNSs there. Then all of your and your family's devices are ad free. No technical knowledge needed.

They sell other products to home and enterprise costumers.

You don't install anything :^)

If you have doubt on their service you can check if your DNS inquiries are secure or not on this website https://www.dnsleaktest.com/
>>
Does it support weeb sites like this?

Exactly my same concern too: I couldn't find something about "business model"/"how does adguard makes money" in their website, it makes them as useless as opendns.

They've also partnered with WOT, which have been into a scandal due to the implied profitting from user data:
https://securityintelligence.com/news/wot-privacy-breach-trust-tanks-as-browser-add-on-caught-selling-user-data/
>But the app has also been collecting data about its users, including account names, mailing addresses and browsing history. Before selling this data to third parties, per the user agreement, the company was supposed to scrub it clean of any identifying details.
https://thehackernews.com/2016/11/web-of-trust-addon.html
>However, NDR found that it was very easy to link the anonymized data to its individual users.
>The reporters focused on just a small data sample of around 50 WOT users, and were able to retrieve a lot of data, which included:
>Account name
>Mailing address
>Shopping habits
>Travel plans
>Possible illnesses
>Sexual preferences
>Drug consumption
>Confidential company information
>Ongoing police investigations
>Browser surfing activity including all sites visited
>This data belonged to just 50 users, and WOT has more than 140 Million users. From here, you can imagine why the whole matter is of huge concern.
https://lifehacker.com/web-of-trust-sells-your-browsing-history-uninstall-it-1788667989
>It turns out that it also collects a bunch of data about your browsing habits, then sells it off to various third party companies. This alone isn’t terribly abnormal, but it turns out that Web of Trust did not anonymize that data very well, which means it’s easy to identify who are you. Web of Trust collected a lot of data, including mailing addresses, travel plans, possible illnesses (basically anything you searched for), and more.

Nevermind they seem to take a very serious position with an open statement against adverstising
https://blog.adguard.com/en/
I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. and wait until they go fully open source

Wut? Could I use this to get a heads up if I'm ever getting investigated or if there's some kind of FBI process running on my computer?
