I have the 55" non-HDR model and I am quite happy with it so far. The apps work well. the roku built in is an older model, so some apps have a flicker to them, but the flicker is nonexistent on external inputs.

4K on a 43 inch screen will look negligible anyway. With how cheap hdtvs now are the minimum screen size you should purchase should be at least 50 inches.

I bought a 55" TLC 4K TV for my parents for $350 on black friday. Its good but don't expect many features. Roku is embedded into it so that's the only drawback. Like once a month if freezes and you have to unplug the tv to reset it. That's the only issue they've had with it.
