ruined it for me when the nigger emancipation movie came out

in what way
django is for faglords
real men use golang's stdlib http server with no frameworks or bloat.
lets stupid people write shitty software. good stuff in the right hands tho.
>>61308402
I vaguely remember it has a weird understanding of MVC.

>real men
>golang
yeah not even close m80
>>61308448
real man use erlang
>>61308448
but what if google drops the language like lot of other products
is it even the fastest language for web backend?
>>61308402
I work for a company in USA's top 10 hosting companies and the dev team we use Django and Python for almost anything but the front end obviously, stuff like pattern recognition in spam filters some minor form of ML again for that and mostly automation in user interaction with the servers.
The learning curve is super steep but small, in 1-2 weeks you can do miracles with it.

speed doesn't matter to most clients
proof: RoR still exists.
>>61308402
Node is far superior
>>61308583
... at being inferior, yes.
>>61308570
This. It's good. You can do things really quick with minimal effort. Anyone who says to use C or Go with a HTTP library is a fucking autist who has never worked on a real-world project with deadlines.
Dont listen to these plebs. Django is redpilled.

I have 3 years of Python experience and I didn't feel comfy with django.
I just started learning Node and it's amazing and superior in every way

Django is a swiss army knife with 300 blades--usually more tools than you need. I prefer Flask and Bottle where appropriate and if I need things like user-management I go for Django.
>>61308632
It also scales really well

Django could shred thru scales.

Djan/g/o is the official /g/ framework.
>>61308813
Its true. I mean it uses python which is great itself
Perl on Catalyst is superior.
>>61308600
you're a fucking idiot
enjoy your 15mb web pages
can someone recommend some Django books?

The Django tutorial and then the documentation is great and Two Scoops of Django is great for learning some best practices and advanced features.
