It's actually awesome for programs like winrar where files would initially be extracted to a temp folder before being written to the extraction location, cuts down the waiting time significantly.

Use 7-zip, retard

Why when winrar works fine?

It's free and open source software to begin with. It also does not extract to a tem folder first, it extracts where you tell it to do. Which is typical for free and open source software, to let the user inn control. Nonfree software controls you.

I state I'm using Windows, yet you seem more bothered about what archiving software I'm using on the basis of free/non-free and open source.
It's not 2010 anymore anon, you don't have to baby your ssd to prevent wear.

That doesn't change the fact that the software you chose to use cucks you by not listening to you where to extract a file.

Well I'm not quite trusting of non-volatile technologies just yet, I only have Windows and programs installed on the SSD whilst all my important files and documents remain on HDD.
Bump in hope for an answer to the first post.
