My buddy used an AMD Fx-62 OC'd to 4.1GHz until like 2014.

It ran so hot we had to use a razor to separate it from the AC Freezer 7,and the heat spreader had heat discoloration. He went through many motherboards.

Athlon 64s are still decent, with a graphics card backing it up you could use it for day to day internet browsing. Late model Pentium 4s are decent performance but the shit power usage and the excessive heat generated make them less useful than a Raspi 2+
