well, the big hole in the side of it may explain why it was $3
>>61292750
>polk audio
>good
>>61292750
>inb4 filled with sand
>>61293979
sand is a bretty good choice for sound reflection dampening actually
>>61294002
only if it's outside the speaker
>>61292750
if you want cheap the Micca are your best bet
>>61294270
Got a some Micca mb42 bookshelf speakers. What's the cheapest amp I could get for these things?
>>61292750
nice meme,
just get GENELEC my dude
>>61294418
A kinter or Lepai. They're like twenty or thirty bucks new, but aren't going to be very powerful.
Second hand might be a better route.
>>61294418
smsl SA-50 is probably the best cheap amp, just remember to change the power cord for a better one
>>61294459
>>61294813
Thanks for the suggestions.
>>61293938
polk isn't high tier but 3$ a pair for an okay speaker is kinda good
Just get headphones
is the Audio Source AMP102VS a good amp?
I need 6in tall speakers for a computer desk. Cant have anything huge or itll cover my screen.
Is there anything out there? I listen to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks and these cheap speakers are muffled and Its hard to make words out sometimes
>>61295549
You can get HTD Level 3's for that price, and the Level 3's are much better.
>>61295805
Micca COVO-S speakers
SMSL SA-36A amp
cheap speaker wire
= $100
>>61295844
Says who?
>>61295805
>>61296103
pic related, not mine but it'll give you an idea of how they look like
>>61296103
Those covo-s speakers look absolutely perfect for what I need.
Ive been looking at "computer speakers" and there it all seems kind of junky with huge stupid subwoffers on them. Never thought to look at a separate amp + speaker combo because of how small my desk is.
>>61296199
not him but HTD Level 3 beats most speakers in their price range, only downside it's they're too big for a desktop
>>61295844
>HTD Level 3
the internet says they cost 349 dollars or more; the op got his speakers for 3 dollars
what point are you trying to make
>>61296257
you can always add a sub later, the Dayton Sub-800 is great for the price and you can connect it all with just speaker wire
>>61296103
you should also buy banana plugs to make life easier
try ipad speakers they are quite load and good value
>>61296378
The screenshot. If you were going to pay MSRP for those speakers you're better off getting HTD L3's unless you have a manlet desk.
>>61292750
Pair of Polk bookshelf speakers in good shape for $3. Nice grab.
>>61295680
this desu
>>61295805
The Micca mb42x are fine but the covos sound pretty bad. They're really old and overpriced now but the Logitech LS11 do vocals very well even at low volumes.
>>61297345
the covos are certainly a "you get what you pay" sort of deal but not bad by any means, besides, the point of buying passive speakers is that's easier and cheaper to upgrade your set up later on
/g/'s opinion on bose? got some old school 2 speaker set and this shit bumps
>>61294418
there are plenty of circuit diagrams available just make your own
>>61298469
bose just repackages cheap chink shit as "high end audio". It's a scam. Why do you think they rely on show room displays to sell their shit? They specifically play demos meant to sound amazing on that system, in that particular room configuration.
One speaker brand I never see get mentioned is Cerwin vega despite my uncle swearing by them and using nothing less. Anyone have any experience with there speakers?
>>61298469
We here at /g/ would like to let you know that if you like it and it's for your own entertainment then it's good.
