The current menu is worse. Different firefox profiles can have drastically different menus which makes it necessary for the end user to have to search through the menu with their eyes. A 1D vertical list is faster to scan through than a 2D grid also.

The only thing wrong with this menu is the history is hidden in the library submenu which makes it slightly less convenient to access. I hope they abandon the library idea.

Palemoon has a bookmark bar which firefox and forks don't have. It's way better.
