When these days kids as young as 12 in middle school are learning programming and will have 5-10 years headstart in experience by the time they graduate and start looking for jobs?
I feel like I literally can't compete.

I know this feel. Love technology but cannot force myslef to learn anything thanks to NEEtdom and severe depresion and being 25 yo KHV

My only motivation at this point is to construsct time machine

It'll be easier and you'll be more skilful in the end.
also you can learn programming in a few years anyway
They learn and immidiately forget again OP
>>61286285
What the fuck are you trying to accomplish by learning the language? A job? pfft, don't waste your time gramps, even if you were to stick with it for more than 3 months.
As a hobby? Sure go ahead.

why do you want to compete with kids? everybody gets older at the same rate. if you really want to work in teach invest the time to find what you want to work on and build towards it. if it takes you until you are 50 to be a elite hax0r so be it but i belive you will be much happier when you reach the goals you set for yourself.
>is there any point in living if you are 25+ yo?
>>61286379
>sexbots
you might enjoy programming
>>61286367
Why would I want to spend thousands of hours on a hobby and not eventually hope to get paid for it?
>>61286399
Because you enjoy it?
>>61286399
>hobby
>getting paid
There's a reason it's called "hobby", not "job".
>>61286424
>expecting the rent, bills and food to pay for itself
>>61286441
Do what everyone else does and do you hobby in your spare time?
>>61286285
If you are 25+ yo, you should know better than to frogpost.
>>61286454
>expecting to have free time when you have a full time job
>>61286285
programming is not as hard as math but it may be comparable
almost every school teaches math so does it mean majority students are now mathematicians?
>>61286285
And?
I got my self into programming before my middleschool/highschool started offering stem electives.
I sought out opportunities to learn to program without my school's help.
Yeah, I would have liked to get all those stem electives, but at least I know I'm a year or two ahead of the curve.

>Expecting
But I do anon, lots of people have both a job and a hobby, some even have kids as well and manage to squeeze in time.
stop being so fucking pedantic and realise you're never going to make it, you don't even have the attention span to complete codeacademy, never mind become proficient enough to land yourself a job.
Unlike your Lil whiteboi dick this is something you can change.
I started when I was 25, and now I'm a professional software engineer.
