Do you backup your data on a regular basis?
How do you do it?
i just copy paste to an external hard drive but would like a better way
Hourly backups with Time Machine
Latest backup synced to a remote server nightly

Like twice a year onto a external HDD through timemachine.
Not the best practice, but it's better than nothing.
rsync -av --delete /home/fag -e ssh [email protected]:/mnt/backup/fag

I count on NSA doing the job for me
My main PC incrementally backs up over the network to a 6TB disk sitting in my server. Which in turn backs itself up to a secondary 6TB disk via Windows backup utility once every 24 hours.
Same with the disks that hold all my movies/music/pictures. Each media type has its own drive and redundancy drive for backup

>mfw the NSA/FBI/CIA is probably sitting on several terabytes of data that's been lost from the Internet.

If your house burns down, you have no redundancy though..

Weekly rsync backups to a dedicated backup volume, weekly rsync backups to a redundant backup volume, weekly b2 backups to Backblaze

All my important files are saved on a USB drive that is kept in a fireproof box.
