iPhone 8 pricing rumors

Sure, I get that they'll be supply-constrained until early 2018. But they're not going to sustain that absurd price point throughout the product cycle, and I highly doubt a price cut midway through will do any good for their sterling brand. And their China situation is already dire because of Huawei selling equally good phones for $100-250 less. What will entice the average Zhou to spend $1200 on a smartphone? Surely not just a bezel-free display. I doubt even ARKit can do that.
I think Apple will keep current prices and just deal with irate customers who can't get an OLED iPhone for Christmas.

That makes some sense but if Apple isn't able to meet expected demand, I wouldn't put it past them to just raise prices to temper the demand while making extreme profits. It's not like they would have trouble moving millions of units even at a $1200 price point.
