No distro is safe from his eternal grasp
>>
You just know this guy got bullied all his life and he is taking it out on the Linux community as some desperate grasp for power and acceptance

>make convoluted shite

Can't believe the Linux community is willing to embrace a guy who wrote publicly about how the Linux philosophy and POSIX belongs in the trash.

Anyone remember Jörg Schilling? I think Poettering is worse.

>>61243783
>There is literally nothing wrong with being a SystemD user
There's nothing right about it, either. Startup time is nice, but small, sharp tools are nice, too.

Is Poettering watching?
>>
>>61243783
SystemD is a lot like the Federal Reserve. You can bitch and moan about it at the ideological level all day - No one is going to complain if you use Fed Notes to buy services and go about your daily life.

I have tried and love Slackware - but it is pretty much like bartering gold pieces at this point. Totally doable but a lot of extra effort
>>
>systemd
>D
It's systemd. d. Doesn't make that shit better, though.
>>
You're blaming the wrong person. The people responsible for Systemd are Red Hat, pure and simple. They develop it, they finance it, they have pushed it to take over all Linux distros. So while you were busy attacking Canonical because >muh mir and >muh unity, Red Hat were taking over all Linux with their own init system. Enjoy.

This is a fucking meme right? If systemd was shit, why would so many intelligent developers use it?

watch Devuan's presentation at FOSDEM. He goes in details how the entire deal with systemd adoption reeks Kike for a mile

>why is everyone so upset that a blob of 100K LoC unaudited C program written by lennart-0day-pottering (deadbeat father of pulseaudio) runs as root on 90% of linux systems?
Yeah I mean they all hate change and don't understand linux at all.

This virgin is making Linux not safe.

https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/6237#issuecomment-311900864

He doesn't want Systemd to do error checks, he wants every other application do to it instead. This shittard is blaming everybody but himself.
>>
>>61247842
He always does this though
>>
>>61243110
He's going to ruin everything.
>>
>>61244808
>intelligent
Most like lazy, and that's the reason why. It offfers literally no benefit to the end user, only convenience to the developer.
>>
>>61247842
Not a virgin. He's had two chicks before and they were doormat yes-women so he thinks he's a mac(k)-daddy now.

>>61247925
>no benefit to end user
>keeping things running under most circumstances no benefit
>not abusing inittab to do so no benefit
systemd is literally guinea worms but to say it doesn't provide the host any benefit is ridiculous.

Because systemd is the continuum of deprecated yet mandatory software like ConsoleKit or udev or udisks2 that every Linux distro uses.

Both theses software and systemd are made by Red Hat.

So even when you don't use a RHEL system, you actually benefit from the innovations from RedHat that no one has a viable alternative for.
>>
>>61248239
Schilling's work was the original cdrecord which he switched to a GPL-incompatible license in 2006 or so. Debian then forked their own version.

The former is only ever accidentally the latter.

Reinventing the wheel is kind of never-ending trend.

In both Linux and Windows realms...
