That benig said, for most people Noctuas have a pleasant sound signature/landscape.

Personally I got Noctuas because they were the best available. I know there are better fans but I could not find them being sold anywhere for a reasonable price.

I'd like to see the methodology. I ran exactly the same tests about five years ago and the fans (except for a few losers, usually the ones that were the most 'eXXXtreme!!') were exactly on the same curve.

It's hard to measure total airflow accurately. I built an entire custom hotwire anemometer rig to do it.
