I used to be 100% firefox but the past two years having more than 4 or 5 tabs opened slows it to a crawl. Like painfully slow 30 second stalling tabs and even after finally loading scrolling up and down causes lag too. I have a goddamn 7700k and 32gb of RAM it makes no sense why it lags so bad. Firefox if you have a low ram, otherwise Chrome is really good. I use firefox on my laptop while on my pc I use chrome. The ram demand on chrome is ridiculous.

Search for "http:" and delete/empty all entries
Then you will have a firefox that really never updates and also never connects to somewhere without you knowing. When the next one releases repeat the process, it takes about 2 minutes anyways.
